Joan Helmet Necklace — Ancient Bronze on Sterling Chain
A modern relic formed through impression and transformation.
This piece begins with a wax impression taken from a fragment of an old coin, then reworked by hand — reshaped, softened, and refined until the original source becomes abstracted rather than replicated. The resulting form evokes a warrior’s helm: a symbol of protection, conviction, and quiet strength.
The reference to Joan of Arc is intentional but restrained — courage without spectacle, faith held close, resolve earned rather than declared.
Hand-cast in ancient bronze and suspended from a solid sterling silver chain, the surface is finished by hand to preserve texture, irregularity, and depth. Each necklace carries subtle variation, making no two exactly alike.
