his piece begins with an original vintage medal featuring a Gothic cross form — a motif found in medieval architecture, coins, and heraldic seals.
Using a direct wax impression, I capture the softened relief and surface history of the original, then translate that imprint into solid bronze by hand. It is preserved structure.
The cross form functions here as geometry and balance — intersecting lines, symmetry, and visual order — rather than doctrine.
Finished with an oxidized patina and intentionally preserved texture, this small-scale medal is designed to layer seamlessly or wear as a quiet marker of strength.
