Jewelry for People Who Dont Like Jewelry

Some people love jewelry.

Others own a few pieces they never wear.

I'm interested in the people who forget they're wearing it.

The people who wear my work often tell me, "I don't really wear jewelry." And yet they put on the same necklace every morning without thinking about it.

That's never felt like a contradiction.

I've never been interested in ornament for ornament's sake. I'm interested in creating pieces that become part of someone's daily life.

I work with oxidized sterling silver, bronze, leather, and reclaimed materials that change over time. They collect marks, soften with wear, and develop a history alongside the person wearing them.

The objects we value most are rarely the newest. They're the ones we've lived with.

A favorite jacket.

A worn set of keys.

A watch passed from one generation to the next.

They carry memory because they have remained present.

That's what I hope my work becomes.

Not something reserved for special occasions.

Something that simply belongs.
